UT Dallas is the place for you! The Department of Neuroscience and the Center for Advanced Pain Studies at UT Dallas has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow to join a multidisciplinary group studying mechanisms of pain and headache. This specific position will work on projects related to therapeutics development for pain and headache disorders including novel approaches to target ion channels. Work on these projects will include testing in preclinical models of pain and headache as well as in vitro studies using patch-clamp electrophysiology. |
Minimum Education and Experience |
Ph.D in a related field. |
Preferred Education and Experience |
A doctoral degree is required as well as 5+ years of experience in either preclinical pain/headache models. Alternatively, 5+ years of experience with in vitro electrophysiology methods is also acceptable. Experience working with transgenic animals and maintenance of mouse colonies is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse laboratory environment is essential.

Behavioral testing using preclinical mouse models of pain and/or headache; mouse handling; colony maintenance; rodent surgical techniques; primary neuronal culture; patch-clamp electrophysiology; regular presentations at group meetings.
