Providence is calling a Radiology Technician II Diagnostic X-ray – CT Technician (Cat Scanner, 1.0 FTE – 40 hours per week, Variables) to at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, Alaska. $10,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

In this position you will:

  • PROCEDURES: Performs wide variety of Diagnostic X-Ray and CT procedures and protocols, maintaining high image quality according to department, hospital, and national standards. Prepares examination rooms, equipment and patients for scheduled procedures.
  • COMMUNICATION: Communicates with physicians, nurses and other members of the team concerning patient status, diagnosis, and related information. Operates multiple communication and telecommunication systems. Helps coordinate scheduling of routine exams, tests, and daily add-on procedures.
  • SAFETY & EDUCATION: Complies with department and hospital magnetic safety standards. Practices Body Substance Isolation. Completes education necessary to maintain licensure or certification required for job.
  • TEAMWORK: Maintains team-oriented approach to high standards of patient care and patient flow through the department. Helpful and courteous at all times with co-workers, maintaining positive relationships.
  • EQUIPMENT: Calibrates, maintains and trouble-shoots equipment and independent workstations. Optimizes equipment and supplies to benefit department operations and needs.
  • SUPPLIES & INVENTORY: Stocks work area daily. May be involved in stocking general supplies or ordering as requested.
  • DOCUMENTATION: Completes records, daily Quality Assurance and Improvement information, meeting regulatory and department standards.
  • Performs the duties necessary to meet the departmental goals within established procedures and guidelines. Works with little or no supervision at night and on weekends when “on call”. Unusual or complex problems are referred to the Radiology Manager for resolution.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 2 years of clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • 2 years experience in CT.

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC’s long term care facility, has 22 beds. PKIMC provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency department, surgery, laboratory services, maternity, general medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, specialty clinics, diagnostic imaging services and pharmacy and is staffed by a mix of primary care physicians, surgeons and specialists who provide family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, radiology and general practice.
