Duties

As an IT SPECIALIST (OS), you will:

-Analyze systems requirement and customer requirements, develop specifications for new or modified systems, plan and coordinate the design, development, testing, installation, and support of new and modified systems, including base hardware and software components and configuration, and serve as the primary liaison with customer organizations on all server related matters.

-Work with other IT and TIGTA departments to establish priorities for IT investments and builds business cases; demonstrate total cost of investment; and establish metrics and associated performance measurement tools.

-Evaluate, select, verify, and validate systems software environments. Coordinate and participate in the planning, installation and maintenance of complex systems with major industry vendors. Coordinate, participate, and direct the efforts of others involved in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of services and equipment.

-Plan, design, develop, and manage the integration of new or specialized hardware, operating systems and related peripherals to enhance existing architecture. Lead and participate on project teams to implement hardware/software systems and to integrate IT architecture with business needs. Define overall project requirements; plan and coordinate systems design, development, and implementation; oversee support of installed systems and services; and, resolve a wide range of technical and management issues.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-13, You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:

– Experience supporting and/or maintaining continuous monitoring tools from a software and hardware perspective AND;

– Experience leading system enhancements as part of an information technology team AND;

– Experience using continuous monitoring tools to remediate security vulnerabilities and/or risks.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
