Job Summary |
This position will provide custodial support for UTD’s Student Housing facilities. Duties involve general cleaning of an assigned housing building.

Minimum Education and Experience |
Six months experience in custodial maintenance work; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to read, write, communicate and understand written and oral instructions in English. |
Preferred Education and Experience |
1 – 2 years of institutional custodial experience. Experience operating carpet cleaning and floor care machines such as buffers, extractors, auto scrubbers, and burnishers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Dust and/or polish furniture, blinds, and equipment.
Clean restroom and fill dispensers. Vacuum, spot clean, and/or extract carpets and furniture using commercial vacuum cleaners and extraction equipment. Sweep, mop, polish, and strip floors in rooms and halls. Report malfunctions of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, and/or damages to room and hall furnishings to supervisor. Stock area with appropriate supplies. Lock and unlock doors as directed. Move furniture, equipment or fixtures as required. Provide quality customer service. Assure all safety precautions are followed in the workplace. Communicate effectively in a professional manner and is a team player. Other duties may be assigned. |
